Create a vocabulary circle for each vocabulary word & complete the handouts. Due Monday, but you have some time to begin them now. (Wasting time is not allowed).
Work alone or in pairs to match the 10 words to their definitions.
Create vocabulary circles for the 10 words in your own notebook (these words are generated at random, so if repeats come up, you don't need to make a 2nd Vocabulary Circle--however, by the end of the 2nd week you need to have all 55 Vocabulary Circles).
Remember to keep ALL of your vocabulary circles--all tests/quizzes are cumulative.
Answer the questions in groups of 3 to 4 (talk about getting in to groups)
Reading: Follow along with sound recording. Maintain your dialectical journal. You need 20 entries and we will be reading this book over 9 days (so you need to have two entries each day)
10:10-10:50: Presentations
Complete presentations.
Students take out a sheet of paper and create an evaluation sheet. You will evaluate each presentation:
.....Student Name..........Visual Appeal .........Writing Style ..........Creativity..........Convincing.........Elements of Speech.....
Write each student's name. Rating is easy as 1, 2, 3.
Do not talk or disrupt each others presentations in any way (letters of apology).
Copy the vocabulary words and definitions into your notebooks. Leave a section of your notebook for your vocabulary list. Vocabulary tests/quizzes will be cumulative (after week one, your test will be on Chapters 14-21, after week two your test will be on chapters 14-27 or 28)
